Crows destroy Magpies

Saturday 20th August, 2005

As if losing to Carlton last week wasn't enough, the Magpies have suffered another humiliating loss, this time a 110pt mauling at the hand of Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

The Pies were pathetic all day, with James Clement practically to sole Magpie to be able to hold their head high.

In one positive, ruckman Guy Richards made a successful return to AFL football, and got through his first senior hit out for 2005 unscathed.

Forgotten Magpie ruckman Guy Richards will finally make his 2005 debuts with the Pies, after the injury-prone big man was picked to take on the Crows at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

Classy forward Blake Caracella joins him in the line-up, as the pair replace Matthew Lokan and Travis Cloke who have both been omitted.

Pies have nothing to Crow about.

Collingwood V Adelaide, R.21 2005

Written by Matt Slutzkin

My apologies for not writing an article last week, however I had a few personal issues which meant I just didn’t have the heart or the time to write an article. It’s been harder and harder each week to write the same type of article: Collingwood weren’t good enough, we have too many injuries, looking forward to next season, blah, blah, blah. With one match to go, it’s time to get serious.

Has settled in well on a wing in an impressive debut season. Often rushes his disposals, however his class and flair cannot be faulted.

Started off as an opportunistic forward, but has shown true ball-winning ability in the midfield in recent weeks.

An exciting future beckons.
