TMN 2005 Mid-Season Review

What was looking like an impressive future at Lexus Centre, The Collingwood Football Club has continued on it’s horrid run since a successful, or close to, successful era following the 2002/03 seasons. When a team is stuck on the bottom end of the AFL Ladder, there is always those negatives that are the topic to talk about for not only fans, but the football followers.

 

 

TMN 2005 Season Preview

Collingwood are set for a good season despite some good and bad signs from an impressive 2005 pre-season. The list is looking well constructed, as Mick Malthouse and company has got rid of some opportunists and deadwood players and has formed a strong list capable of making September, after the Magpies had a terrible 2004 after previously being runners up for the last two seasons.

 

 

 

Tasmanian Tall Timber

Tom Davidson and Billy Morrison are two crucial young players to Collingwood’s future success. As Anthony Rocca, Collingwood’s current centre half forward, gets older and his body deteriorates someone will need to replace him. While he is still playing, the Tasmanian duo of Davidson and Morrison need to play under Rocca to be able to learn from him.

 

 

2004 Player Review

After one of the most disappointing seasons in the Magpie’s recent history, there were a few shining lights as the club looked to the future by blooding a massive ten youngsters through-out the year. Guy Richards and Cameron Cloke showed that they are two big men with an equally big future, and Jules Rowe and Nick Maxwell showed just how valuable they will be in the future success of this great club.

 

 

A Tribute To Ben Kinnear

One of the AFL’s strugglers, Ben Kinnear has recently just announced his retirement from AFL Football. Ben Kinnear, a Survivor from the Magpies of the 90’s has spent 7 years with Collingwood, to only play 50 games at the elite level. At 25, he has come to the decision due to him struggling with injuries and fitness of late.
