Five new magpies are set to pull on the black and white for the very first time, with youngsters Chris Egan, Travis Cloke, Heath Shaw, Zane Leonard and David Fanning all being name in the side's 28-man squad to take on West Coast on Saturday night.

With stars Chris Tarrant and Ben Johnson to miss along with young ruckman Guy Richards, the club has opted for pace ahead of what is said to be a slick Darwin field.

With Richards missing, young ex-NBL basketballer David Fanning is almost certain to debut, while Chris Egan and Travis Cloke are also extremely likely to play after being touted as likely debutants last week.

New recruit Blake Caracella will again miss through lack of match condition, while Nathan Buckley, Alan Didak and Tarkyn Lockyer are still yet to recover from their respective injuries.
