Pies sink to new low

Sunday 14th August, 2005

A sloppy Collingwood outfit has reached a new low in season 2005, going down to 16th placed Carlton at the MCG on Friday night by 35pts.

The Pies were never in the contest, with Carlton firing away in the third term booting 7 goals to 2.

Youngsters Harry O'Brien and Ben Davies impressed again, while skipper Nathan Buckley was, as usual, a class above.

The loss now leaves the Magpies in a probable position to receive a priority pick in the 2005 National Draft, assuming the Pies go down to the 2nd placed Adelaide, and a fast running Bulldogs side over the next fortnight.
