cLeod magic sinks PiesSunday 3rd April, 2005
A miracle goal from Adelaide star Andrew McLeod has seen the Crows home by 6 points, in what was arguably one of the ugliest matches in the past 12 months.
After scores were tight all day, Collingwood broke away and started to gather momentum for the last term. Blake Caracella was in fine form for the Pies, booting 4 goals from eight shots on goal, as well as picking up some 20 disposals playing at half forward.
However his efforts were not enough, with the Pies not playing a standard of football deserving of a victory.
Ben Johnson, James Clement and Rhyce Shaw all put in solid contributions through-out the day, with Shane Wakelin also putting in an impressive display.
The spotlight now turns to out of form senior players Ryan Lonie, Andrew Williams and Brodie Holland - all of whom are a big chance to be dropped this week as youngsters Chris Egan and Travis Cloke push for selection against Carlton on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
