Magpie youngsters Heath Shaw, David Fanning and Harry O'Brien are a chance to pull on the black and white for the first time against Richmond on Friday night, after being named in Collingwood's 28 man squad.

Ex-Eagle Chad Morrison has also been named, despite coach Mick Malthouse earlier predicting that back soreness would prevent him from participating in this year's pre-season competition.

First year players Travis Cloke and Chris Egan, despite being touted as likely debutants, have been let out of the squad, along with injured players Nathan Buckley (hamstring), Alan Didak (knee), Tarkyn Lockyer (finger), Adam Iacobucci (calf), Sean Rusling (hamstring), Blake Caracella and Tom Davidson (both match fitness).
