Dogs run away with 4 points
Monday 28th March, 2005
After three solid quarters, the Magpies have been trounced by a hard-running Bulldogs side on the MCG today by 32 points.
The Pies, led by Rhyce Shaw and Leon Davis, started very strongly, and after 2 first term goals to Tarkyn Lockyer were up by 9 points at the first change. Even second and third terms saw Collingwood ahead by that same margin going into the last quarter, but it was then that the Pies stopped.
The Dogs booted 7 unanswered goals to take out the match by over 5 majors, with the performances of Shaw, Davis and Johnson the only bright lights in an otherwise terrible day for the Collingwood Football Club.
The Pies will now meet fellow strugglers Adelaide at the Telstra Dome next Sunday, in what is a crucial match for both sides to get off the mark for season 2005.
